On Tuesday, Election day, 95 candidates who had pledged net neutrality were running for seats in the the House Representatives and the Senate lost. It seems as though the people have spoken, and net neutrality may be dead. As disinfo.com reported, "The Federal Communication Commision tried to implement net neutrality rules but got smacked down in April by a court ruling saying that it did not have the authority to do so."(Jacob Sloan,disinformation.com) The bottom line is that lawmakers in Congress, as well as cable companies, do not support the FCC's plan in its current form. The FCC will need to adjust their proposed legislation if they hope Republicans & Democrats in Congress will pass the bill.
