  1. On the program Democracy Now, Timothy Karr from free press.com, expressed his belief that the FCC should implement net neutrality because it is a message of free speech, economic freedom, and equal opportunity. FCC Chair Julius Genachowski has proposed a plan that would ensure access to the internet. These safeguards would also apply to wireless companies. Telecommunication companies, who are in oposition to the FCC safeguards are concerned with losing money and risk the destruction of their business model. Karr believes that Genachowski will restore net neutrality even though it has come into opposition by Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson (R-Texas) who has blocked the FCC from changing its mandate. I believe that companies must adopt by changing its business models because more and more people are having access to high speed internet year after year. I believe that workshops being held between the FCC and Cable will provide information and interesting dialogue that will openminds and allow compromise.
